How much does it cost?

Nothing. It is absolutely free. We invite you to donate, as little or as much as you would like.  Donate either at the end of the class you attend or directly to these amazing NGOs. None of the money goes to either the teachers, the venue or the organisers of the festival. We do not set aside an ‘administrative fee’, it is all being collected and passed on directly to the NGOs.

Really?

Yes, really =)

Do I have to donate?

You don’t have to donate anything if you can’t afford it.
This way- the classes and workshops are accessible to locals and anyone who would not be able to afford it otherwise.  On the other hand, if you can afford it, we request that you do, to make sure that aside from sharing our and the teachers’ skills, knowledge and passions, we are also giving back and passing it forward, as well as making the most out of this incredible opportunity.Where does my money go?
This blog summarises the NGOs who we are supporting at this time. Please feel free to contact them directly to request more info or if you would like to arrange a larger donation / volunteer your skills etc.

Where is this?

The venues are spread out across 5km of the coastal village of Amed. Please see this infographic for an overview but do note that whilst the distances are hypothetically walkable, it could take more than an hour to walk between the furthest. Do note that it is hotter here than in Canggu or Ubud. We recommend hiring a scooter or utilising local taxis (scooter or car).

Do I need to be here for the whole time?

You can drop in for one class or stay for the whole week! You choose!

Do I need to have any yoga/meditation/freediving/etc experience?

Nope. Often people say ‘I’m not flexible enough to do yoga’- to us it’s akin to saying ‘I’m too hungry to eat’. You don’t need to have any experience in any of the skills the workshops have on offer (unless specified, like Acro Yoga- Intermediate).
The spectrum of what’s on offer is very diverse- some may complement skills you already have and others could be completely out of your comfort zones.
All you need to have is an open mind and curiousity to try something new (or continue exploring). Not everything will be your cup of tea- but this is the perfect opportunity to give something you might never have tried a go. You never know what amazing talents lie dormant, or what misconceptions are holding you back from a richer, fuller experience that is life.

Where do I sign up?

We recommend that you sign up for classes in advance, directly at the venue to avoid disappointment. For our first edition we do not have a centrally located booking system (but if you have the knowledge/skills/sponsorship with something like mindbodyapp- please get in touch with us!) and this being Bali, we can’t guarantee 100% internet reception at all times either to guarantee pre-booking via facebook or email will work.
Some of the workshops have a maximum number of people and are on first come-first served basis. We highly recommend pre-booking and turning up at least 10min before the workshop- but if all else fails, just turn up- you never know!!

Can you organise accommodation for me?

We would love to, but we are absolutely flat out trying to coordinate more than 70 workshops at 7 venues with a small number of volunteers that are doing this above their normal daily commitments. Some of the venues where the workshops are held do provide accommodation and we obviously highly recommend them.
Balila Beach Resort
Kelapa Cottage
Hidden Paradise Cottages
The Griya Villas and Spa- Private Luxury Hideaway
Life in Amed Boutique Hotel and Villas
Ocean Prana Freedivers Village
Aside from that, check out booking.com or Tripadvisor.com or simply turn up, go for a ride and check out the many options along this gorgeous coastline and pick something you like.

How can I get involved?

There are many ways:
Spread the love- share on your social media, with your friends, with your local communities.
Contribute financially (there will be donation boxes at each class, one per NGO/charity)
If you have skills like blog writing / online marketing / want to get involved for next year’s festival- please get in touch with us via info@oceanyogafestival.com

Where do I find the latest schedule?

We will always have the latest schedule up on our blog– this will be shared through social media- and we will advise of any updates. Please be mindful that things may (and probably will) change- a new event can be added on or the odd class could get cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.  We will do our absolute best to keep you updated and ask that you retain your sense of humour at all times and make the most of your time and interactions.

Is there any more info?

We will be regularly sharing updates via our Facebook and Blue Earth blog. If you have any specific questions, please get in touch with us.
